Guest House Museum Loom
Guest House Weavers and friends,
Just wanted to share with you that the museum loom has been moved to a larger room across the hall from the former loom room. Folks coming up the stairs see the loom right away, the room has an ocean and train view, and 3 windows so lots of light. A new warp will be installed in the next few days, so more lovely rugs can be made and more visitors can enjoy seeing a real loom in action. This photo shows Jared Huffman’s (our district House rep) family last Sat. while he was BBQing salmon. His daughter Abby really took to weaving, and his son had his own ideas about what to do with rags strips (his mom made him wind the ball up afterwards).
The Museum is open every day through the summer: Mon. 1-3:00, Tues.-Fri. 11-2:00, Sat. & Sun. 10-4:00. If you can put in an hour or two, especially on the weekend, please feel free. The new warp should be ready by next Wed. July 15.
