Hello Community,

I am back in Mendocino for a visit and am helping a dear friend of mine in Oaxaca, Mexico, the place I call home, organize an auction of vintage Mexican and Guatemalan textiles. We are asking people to consider donating anything they may have collected years back and no longer use or wear if it is still in good condition. The textiles will be sold or auctioned off in order to raise money for a rebuilding effort in the town of San Juan Colorado, Oaxaca which was hit hard by the last earthquake which struck in February of 2018.  The rebuilding efforts would benefit the 25 weavers of a collective Margaret organized and has helped get off the ground over the last five years. Here is a link to a crowdfunding site which has more details regarding the mission … https://www.gofundme.com/earthquake-aid-to-weavers-in-oaxaca

For those outside of Mendocino or somewhere close by, they can send anything they have (hopefully still in very good condition and thus worth the while) to:  Arianne Rand   PO Box 484   Mendocino, CA   95460  —-   or  folks can bring their items to PTArts, labeled “For the Oaxacans”  before July 15.
