MAY 27th: Sewing Circle 11am & 1:30pm
Come join in the sewing circle for the Rhinoceros Project as our last program gathering before summer break. You can visit their website at rhinocerosproject.
Coffee and Show&Tell at 10am
A presentation by Anne and Michelle from 11 to noon followed by a lunch break, and sewing circle to begin at 1:30. No charge to participants.
“Basically, we’re embroidering a 7 x 9′ version of Durer’s Rhinoceros – the 1515 woodcut – in order to eventually create a watermark in handmade paper. Michelle, my collaborator, and I are hosting public sewing circles to accomplish this endeavor & to create forums for conversation about colonialism, habitat decimation, vanishing species, and shifting value systems. The sewing circles can be a one day event or an extended installation. ”
Kindly & Looking Forward, Anne Beck
